Composite Fillings

Tooth Colored Fillings

If you have a cavity or a damaged tooth, Dr. Sonny Afshar and Dr. Fara Afshar may suggest the use of composite dental fillings. When a filling becomes necessary, our dentists will remove the decayed portion of the tooth and fill it with a composite material. While there are different options available for filling materials, such as gold, porcelain, silver amalgam, or composite resin, we prefer composite fillings due to their numerous benefits.

Why We Choose Composite Fillings

Why We Choose Composite Fillings

Composite fillings, also known as tooth-colored fillings, are designed to closely match the shade of your natural teeth. This makes them particularly suitable for the front teeth and visible areas of your smile. In addition, composite fillings provide strength as they chemically bond to your tooth structure.

Unlike other types of fillings, composite fillings can also be utilized to repair chipped, worn, or broken teeth. Moreover, in many cases, less tooth structure needs to be removed in preparation for composite fillings compared to amalgam fillings. This means that our patients spend less time in the dental chair, allowing them to devote more time to their passions.
